Middle East on Alert: Iran Launches Retaliatory Strike with 200 Missiles – Tensions Escalate

Tensions in the Middle East have reached a critical level. The Islamic Republic of Iran has announced the launch of a third wave of missile attacks targeting Israel. According to Iranian state television, approximately 200 missiles were fired at Israel as part of the assault. Israeli sources claimed that some of the missiles targeted civilian areas.

Israel’s Channel 12 reported that a security official said, “Iran will pay a heavy price for targeting civilian areas—an unbearable price.”

Katz: “A Red Line Has Been Crossed”

Israeli Defence Minister Yisrael Katz issued a strong response to the attacks:

“Iran has crossed a red line by attacking Israel’s civilian areas. The Ayatollah regime will pay the price.”

The attacks are believed to be in retaliation for Israeli operations carried out early in the morning, reportedly targeting Iran’s Natanz Nuclear Facility near Tehran and Isfahan. In response, Iran launched dozens of missiles towards central Israel.

Iran: Warplanes Downed, Pilot Captured

The Tasnim News Agency, known for its ties to the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), claimed that Iranian air defences shot down two Israeli warplanes. The agency reported that a female pilot from one of the downed aircraft was captured alive.

Iranian news outlets also stated that at least 200 missiles were launched toward central Israel and that air defence systems were largely effective in intercepting them.

Alarm in Tel Aviv: Missile Hits Near Defence Ministry

The Israeli Army Radio reported that a missile struck very close to the Ministry of Defence in Tel Aviv, causing a fire in the area. Emergency crews were continuing firefighting and rescue operations on the scene.

Israel’s emergency medical service, Magen David Adom, reported that at least seven people had been injured so far.

Israeli Government Convenes in Bunker

Israel’s state broadcaster KAN announced that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu convened an emergency meeting in a bunker with ministers and top security officials following the attacks.

Khamenei: “The Zionist Regime Will Not Survive This Crime”

Iran’s Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei delivered a televised address to the nation with harsh remarks toward Israel:

“Our armed forces will act with determination and devastate the vile Zionist regime. This matter will not be taken lightly. The Zionist regime will not survive this crime.”

Shelter Warning for Israeli Citizens

The Israeli military issued a nationwide warning for citizens to move into protected shelters and remain there until further notice.
