Tensions have escalated in Iranian airspace. Iranian fighter jets intervened against a US MQ-4C Triton unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) conducting a flight near Iranian borders. According to reports in the Iranian press, the Iranian Armed Forces blocked the US drone, which was operating for reconnaissance and intelligence purposes, and issued a stern warning. Following the warning, the US UAV reportedly withdrew from the area.

Harsh Message from Iran: “We Will Target Your Interests in the Middle East”

Iranian officials have emphasised that they will not tolerate any violation of their airspace. In a statement, they declared, “In the event of any attack, our enemies’ interests in the Middle East will face a comprehensive assault.” The Iranian military underlined its preparedness against any potential threats to its airspace.

Trump’s Threat to Iran: “We Will Hold Iran Accountable Through the Houthis”

Meanwhile, significant statements also emerged from the US side. US President Donald Trump directly targeted Iran over its alleged support for the Houthis in Yemen. Accusing Iran of fostering instability in the region through its backing of the Houthis, Trump stated:

“All attacks in Yemen originate from Iran. Iran continues to supply the Houthis with weapons, money, and intelligence. Iran will be held responsible for every attack carried out by the Houthis. In such a case, Iran will face a powerful response and severe consequences.”
