India’s 50 New Airports Project in 5 Years

50 New Airports and Delhi’s Goal to Become a Global Aviation Hub

India has announced plans to construct 50 new airports over the next five years. Speaking at the World Economic Forum (WEF), India’s Aviation Minister, Rammohan Naidu Kinjarapu, stated that the government aims to expand aviation infrastructure and enhance passenger services through this project. Additionally, various steps will be taken over the next two years to establish Delhi as a global aviation hub. Delhi’s strategic location will be further strengthened through discussions with airlines and international partners.

Growth of India’s Aviation Market

India has grown by 10% over the past decade, becoming the world’s third-largest domestic aviation market. To support this growth, the government aims to build more airports and improve passenger connectivity.

Sustainable Aviation Goals

India is also considering sustainability in the aviation sector. The government aims to use 1% sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) for international flights by 2027 and increase this to 5% by 2030. Additionally, there are ongoing plans to produce 5 million tonnes of sustainable aviation fuel.

Oyo’s Innov8 Investment and Expansion Plans

Oyo’s co-working space venture, Innov8, has secured $12.7 million in investment. The company plans to increase the number of co-working spaces across India to 100 this year. With this investment, Innov8 aims to support technology upgrades, partnerships, and expansion.

Emirates Introduces Airbus A350 in India

Emirates has introduced the new Airbus A350 aircraft in India, which will be used for daily flights to Mumbai and Ahmedabad. Additionally, Emirates operates Airbus A380 flights to Mumbai and Bengaluru.
