IGA Istanbul Airport continues to host the world’s leading airlines. One of Japan’s largest carriers, All Nippon Airways (ANA), is preparing to launch its flights to Istanbul.
ANA Strengthens Its Partnership with IGA Istanbul Airport
Gizem Çakı Çolak from IGA Istanbul Airport‘s Commercial Aviation, Route Development, and Airline Market Development team met with ANA Turkey’s General Manager Katsuya Fukumoto and Deputy General Manager for Marketing and Sales Tomoji Ishii.

The meeting took place at the IGA Lounge, which offers a premium passenger experience at Istanbul Airport. ANA’s special Star Wars-themed aircraft will make its inaugural flight from Tokyo Haneda Airport to Istanbul on 12 February 2025.

A New Bridge Between Tokyo and Istanbul
ANA’s flights to Istanbul Airport will operate three times a week using the Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner. From October 2025, the frequency is set to increase to daily flights. This expansion will further strengthen ANA’s codeshare partnership with Turkish Airlines (THY).
Once both airlines coordinate their operations, there will be a total of 17 weekly flights between Istanbul and Tokyo. By the end of the year, this number is expected to increase to three flights per day.

Turkish Airlines and ANA: Coordinated Flight Schedules
To provide passengers with better connectivity, Turkish Airlines and All Nippon Airways are optimizing their flight schedules. As of February 2025:
- Turkish Airlines will depart from Tokyo Haneda at 21:45,
- All Nippon Airways will depart from Tokyo Haneda at 08:15.
For return flights:
- All Nippon Airways will depart from Istanbul at 18:10,
- Turkish Airlines will depart at 02:35.
These staggered schedules will offer passengers greater flexibility and more connection options between the two airlines.
