Pegasus Airlines flight PGT38X declared an emergency during its flight from Istanbul to Manchester Airport due to a hydraulic failure. The aircraft issued the alert approximately 20 miles from its destination and successfully landed safely within a cloud of white smoke.
Smoke Cloud Caused Panic
During landing at Manchester Airport, white smoke emerging from the aircraft caused panic among passengers. It was reported that the Airbus A320’s landing gear doors remained open and the thrust reverser was activated. Officials confirmed that the plane experienced a technical issue caused by the hydraulic failure.
Aircraft Taken for Maintenance
Fire crews stood by on the runway as part of standard procedures, and the aircraft came to a safe stop. Pegasus Airlines announced that an investigation had been launched and that the plane was taken in for maintenance.
