Developed by Turkish Aerospace Industries (TUSAŞ), HÜRJET continues to generate significant interest in the global aviation market. Designed as a jet trainer, aerobatic, and light attack aircraft, HÜRJET has become a critical asset for the Turkish Air Force while also gaining strong demand internationally. TUSAŞ General Manager Mehmet Demiroğlu noted that there is substantial interest in HÜRJET from various regions, including Europe, Africa, Central Asia, and the Americas.

HÜRJET Prototype Takes Flight: TUSAŞ’s New Achievements

On 12 November 2024, the second prototype of HÜRJET made its maiden flight, earning widespread acclaim for its advanced design. Redesigned as a light attack and trainer aircraft, the prototype received positive feedback from pilots. “The new design has become a favourite among pilots,” said TUSAŞ General Manager Mehmet Demiroğlu, highlighting the aircraft’s growing potential. Once the engine licensing issue is resolved, HÜRJET is set to become one of TUSAŞ’s most-exported air assets.

Growing International Demand: Export Opportunities for HÜRJET

Demand for HÜRJET from abroad is increasing daily, with notable interest from Europe, North Africa, Central Asia, and Turkic republics, signalling a strong export potential. Demiroğlu also revealed that negotiations with a transatlantic customer are progressing. Initially, the aircraft will be delivered to the Turkish Air Force as part of serial production. TUSAŞ, which already fulfils the majority of existing orders, aims to export 100 units in the coming years.

Global Success of TUSAŞ and Turkish Defence Industry: HÜRJET

HÜRJET represents more than just aircraft sales; it is a pivotal platform contributing to Turkey’s defence industry ecosystem. Leading Turkish defence companies like ASELSAN, ROKETSAN, and HAVELSAN are integral to the aircraft’s design and production. Demiroğlu emphasised, “HÜRJET offers great opportunities not only for TUSAŞ but also for Turkey’s defence industry,” underscoring its potential to open global markets to the ecosystem. HÜRJET delivers not just an aircraft but also a multinational collaboration and defence capability to the world stage.

HÜRJET’s Ascent in the Global Market

Tailored to meet the needs of the Turkish Air Force, HÜRJET is an ideal platform for training flights and light attack missions while also standing out as a promising export product. Its cost-effective production and cutting-edge technologies make HÜRJET a formidable competitor in the global aviation market.

Serial Production Milestone: TUSAŞ’s Strategic Progress with HÜRJET

TUSAŞ has announced the start of serial production for HÜRJET, beginning with an order for 17 units. Following this initial phase, deliveries to the Turkish Air Force will continue, with the company targeting a total of 100 units to be delivered in the coming years. TUSAŞ aims for HÜRJET to become one of the most widely sold aircraft platforms globally.

Contributions of HÜRJET to the Defence Industry

HÜRJET also provides substantial benefits to Turkish defence companies. Firms such as ASELSAN, ROKETSAN, and HAVELSAN produce various subsystems and spare parts for the project. “HÜRJET is not just an aircraft; it is a project that amplifies the global recognition of Turkey’s defence industry ecosystem,” Demiroğlu stated.
