A First in Europe: Three Aircraft Can Take Off and Land Simultaneously
Istanbul Airport has become the first airport in Europe where three aircraft can take off and land simultaneously on independent runways.
Minister Uraloğlu commented on the matter as follows:
“This is not only a first for Turkish aviation, but also a historic moment in global aviation. We are proud.”
Goal: To Become the Country with the World’s Largest Flight Network
Minister Uraloğlu stated that Turkey aims to leave no destination unreachable in air transport:
“With the goal of having no destination left unreached around the world, we have made our country one of those with the most extensive flight networks globally.”
Istanbul Airport Ranks 2nd in Europe, 7th Worldwide
Among major airports serving over 40 million passengers annually, Istanbul Airport ranked 2nd in Europe and 7th in the world in 2023, having served 80.1 million passengers.
