A Fly Erbil Airlines flight operating between Erbil and Hanover made an emergency landing in Bucharest, the capital of Romania, after one of the passengers suffered a heart attack. Thanks to the swift intervention of medical teams, the passenger’s condition was stabilized.
Life-Saving Decision: Plane Diverted to Bucharest
Fly Erbil spokesperson Lavent Memundi made a statement regarding the incident:
“The flight departed from Erbil towards Hanover as scheduled. However, while in Romanian airspace, one of the Kurdish passengers suffered a heart attack. The captain decided to make an emergency landing at the nearest airport, which was Bucharest.”
After landing, airport medical teams coordinated with the cabin crew to provide immediate assistance. The passenger experiencing the heart attack was transported to the hospital.
Passenger in Stable Condition, Flight Resumed
Spokesperson Memundi confirmed that the passenger was in stable condition and receiving treatment under medical supervision. Following a delay of approximately two hours, the flight resumed and safely landed in Hanover.
