Aircraft engineering and maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) service provider HAECO has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Shanghai Aircraft Customer Service Co. Ltd. (SACSC), a subsidiary of Commercial Aircraft Corporation of China (COMAC), to collaborate on airframe, engine, and component services. This partnership aims to meet the growing maintenance demands for COMAC’s aircraft platforms, including the ARJ21 and C919.
HAECO provides aircraft engineering services encompassing airframe, engine, and component solutions and operates as a group with 16 subsidiaries employing approximately 15,000 people across Hong Kong, Mainland China, Europe, and the Americas. COMAC, on the other hand, is a Chinese aircraft manufacturer known for the production, testing, marketing, leasing, and operation of civil aircraft.
Under the partnership, HAECO provides essential maintenance services for the ARJ21 and C919 platforms. The company is committed to further developing maintenance capabilities for the CF34-10A engine and ARJ21 landing gear by 2025, while also specializing in the component sector with expertise in the C919’s evacuation slide.
HAECO Group CEO Richard Sell commented on the partnership, saying, “HAECO and COMAC have worked together for many years, especially through our training facility in Xiamen, with over 2,700 student courses. This agreement reflects our commitment to supporting COMAC’s growth. We also congratulate COMAC on the opening of the SACSC Hong Kong Office.”
The organizations state that this partnership is an important step in enhancing aircraft maintenance capabilities in the region and supporting the evolving needs of the aviation sector.
