Strong Collaboration on the Bangkok-Istanbul Route

The foundation of this partnership was laid with Thai Airways’ launch of daily flights from Bangkok to Istanbul as of 1 December 2023. This development brings together Thai Airways’ robust connectivity in Asia with Turkish Airlines’ status as the carrier flying to the most countries in the world, offering passengers a global travel experience with comfort and a wide range of options.

Turkish Airlines: “New Opportunities in Tourism and Transportation”

Commenting on the agreement, Turkish Airlines Chairman of the Board and Executive Committee, Ahmet Bolat, said:

“The expansion of our cooperation with Thai Airways marks a significant milestone for tourism and economic relations between Türkiye and Thailand. Through this partnership, we will not only offer our passengers more flight options but also strengthen the connection between the two countries.”

Thai Airways: “Exploring Future Areas of Cooperation”

Thai Airways CEO Chai Eamsiri emphasised that the agreement would serve as a bridge not only between the two nations but also between the Asia-Pacific and Europe regions. He stated:

“Codeshare flights on the Bangkok-Istanbul route will be launched in the 2025–2026 schedule period, pending regulatory approval. This partnership will expand our flight networks and provide easier access to the Asian region, including Thailand’s domestic routes. Exploring new cooperation opportunities in the future is also on our agenda.”

Strengthening Global Connectivity

According to the announcement, the strategic partnership between the two airlines will cater to increasing passenger demand on the Türkiye-Thailand route for both tourism and business travel. In addition, passengers will benefit mutually from both airlines’ frequent flyer programmes, ground services, and connecting flights.
