As the U.S. prepares to host 112,000 long-haul flights during the upcoming winter season, 45% of these flights will be operated by U.S.-based carriers. With an average of 728 flights daily, the winter season highlights the operational intensity of both domestic and international airlines. Among the foreign airlines with the most long-haul flights to the U.S. are industry giants like British Airways, Lufthansa, Air France, Virgin Atlantic, and Turkish Airlines. Meanwhile, the list of carriers with the lowest flight frequencies reveals interesting details. Airlines with the Fewest Long-Haul Flights This Winter
Among the top 10 foreign airlines with the fewest long-haul flights this winter, UK-based TUI Airways ranks at the bottom. TUI has scheduled only 14 flights to the U.S., while Swiss leisure carrier Edelweiss is slightly higher with 47 flights. These low-frequency flights are due to short-term operational plans and limited flight schedules.
For example, TUI’s U.S. flights only operate until the end of November, with services resuming in the summer of 2025. Meanwhile, Edelweiss connects the U.S. on a limited basis, with two weekly flights from Zurich to Tampa and Las Vegas.
