The Ministry of National Defence (MSB) has announced that a Turkish Armed Forces (TSK) C130 military cargo aircraft, which took off from Azerbaijan bound for Türkiye, has crashed in Georgia.
Following the crash, search and rescue operations were launched in coordination with Georgian authorities.
Official Statement from the Ministry of National Defence: “Search and Rescue Operations Have Begun”
The statement released by the Ministry of National Defence included the following:
“A C130 cargo aircraft belonging to our Armed Forces, which took off from Azerbaijan bound for our country, has crashed in Georgia.
Search and rescue operations have begun in coordination with Georgian authorities.”
It was reported that the Ministry of National Defence and relevant institutions are jointly managing crisis coordination in the region, and search and rescue teams have been dispatched to the crash site.

Minister of the Interior Yerlikaya: “We Are Deeply Saddened”
Minister of the Interior Ali Yerlikaya stated on social media that he had spoken with Georgian Minister of the Interior Gela Geladze following the crash:
“I have learned with deep sorrow that our Ministry of National Defence’s C130 military cargo aircraft, which was en route from Azerbaijan to our country, has crashed on the Georgia–Azerbaijan border.
Search and rescue operations are ongoing. I spoke on the phone with Georgian Minister of the Interior Mr Gela Geladze, who is also heading to the scene. I extend my condolences to our great nation.”
Joint Teams Operating in the Crash Area
According to initial information, the aircraft was on its return flight from Azerbaijan to Türkiye when it disappeared from radar along the Georgian border. Georgian emergency services have dispatched search, rescue and medical teams to the area. Turkish officials are working in real-time coordination with Georgian authorities.
Developments regarding the incident will be announced to the public by the Ministry of National Defence.
