Pegasus Airlines is set to serve East Jutland for the first time. The airline will establish an important connection between Denmark and Turkey with new direct flights between Aarhus Airport (AAR) and Antalya Airport (AYT), beginning on 9 May 2025. This new route will expand travel options for more than 1.3 million residents in the Aarhus region.
First Operations in East Jutland
This move marks Pegasus Airlines’ inaugural operation at Aarhus Airport. Antalya is known not only as a destination for sun-seekers and beach lovers but also as a critical transit hub for travellers heading to Central Asia and the Middle East.
This initiative by Aarhus Airport holds great significance for the over 11,000 residents of Turkish descent in the city. The new route will facilitate family visits and reunions, fostering stronger cultural and economic ties. Pegasus Airlines’ collaboration with Aarhus Airport follows the success of the “Routes” development conference hosted in the city.
Statement from the Airport CEO
Lotta Sandsgaard, CEO of Aarhus Airport, commented on the new route:
“We are delighted to welcome Pegasus Airlines to Aarhus Airport. This direct connection to Antalya has been long requested by tour operators, holidaymakers, and the city’s Turkish community. I am confident that the route will be warmly embraced by the Aarhus region.”
More Choices, More Connections
This new route offers opportunities not only for tourists but also for business professionals and transit passengers in the region. Pegasus Airlines’ investment in Aarhus strengthens both economic and social ties, marking a significant step forward for the area.
