At the Aviation Industry Forum held today (Monday), the opening of the first industrial city dedicated to aircraft production and maintenance in Jeddah was announced.
First Licenses Issued
The first license for aircraft maintenance was granted to Middle East Aircraft Engines Company, and the second license was issued to Saudi Airlines Engineering and Aviation Industries Company.
7 Agreements Focused on Localization and Technology Transfer
As part of the forum, 7 agreements were signed focusing on the localization, transfer of technology, and support for supply chains in the production of taxis, helicopters, and light sport aircraft in Jeddah. During the forum activities, a strategic memorandum of understanding was signed between the Second Airports Cluster Company and the National Industrial Development Center. This partnership aims to make a qualitative leap in airport operations by supporting and localizing the aircraft components industry in the Kingdom, achieving the national aviation strategy, and strengthening industrial development.
Tri-party Memorandum for Sustainable Aviation
A tripartite memorandum of understanding was signed between the National Industrial Development Center, Life Shield Company, and Autogyro Company during the forum activities. This agreement aims to contribute to the enhancement of sustainable industrial development in the Kingdom and the improvement of the aviation system, with a focus on localizing and transferring technology in the production of taxi and helicopter aircraft.
