A passenger plane en route from St. John’s to Halifax sparked moments of terror as its left wing caught fire during landing. Thankfully, no casualties were reported.

According to CBC News, the PAL Airlines aircraft experienced smoke and flames on its left wing at approximately 9:30 p.m. local time while landing at Halifax International Airport. Passenger Nikki Valentine reported that a landing gear malfunction caused the left wing to scrape the ground, resulting in the fire.

Approximately 80 passengers were onboard, though an official number has not been confirmed. Airport officials stated that passengers were quickly evacuated and underwent medical checks.
