A military plane crash in Bangladesh has plunged the country into grief. An F-7 fighter jet belonging to the Bangladesh Air Force crashed into the campus of Milestone University in the capital, Dhaka, due to a technical malfunction during a training flight.
According to official statements, the catastrophic crash resulted in 31 deaths, 25 of whom were students. In addition, 78 people were injured and transported to nearby hospitals.
The crash sent shockwaves across the country, prompting the Bangladeshi government to declare national mourning. State officials announced that a comprehensive investigation into the incident had been launched. The technical reliability and safety procedures of F-7 aircraft have once again come under scrutiny.
Milestone University’s campus sustained significant damage, and search and rescue teams continue operations at the crash site.
On the same day, another plane crash occurred near the city of Brescia in Italy. Two people were killed when an ultralight aircraft crashed onto the A21 highway. Italian authorities stated that an investigation into that incident is also ongoing.
