The procurement of the fifth-generation F-35 fighter jets will be managed by American defense giant Lockheed Martin. The Pentagon stated that the agreement is part of a previously signed contract, valued at “$11,762,911,991 under contract N0001923C0003.”
46 F-35 Jets to Be Delivered to Third Countries
Of the 145 fighter jets to be produced under this agreement, 46 will be delivered to third-party nations. The contract not only includes the delivery of the aircraft but also provides tooling support for the final assembly and inspection facilities in Japan and Italy.
