As part of World Autism Awareness Month, Istanbul Airport hosted a meaningful celebration event in collaboration with the Flying to Kindness International Humanitarian Aid Association. The event once again demonstrated that an inclusive travel experience is possible for individuals with special needs.
Participants had the opportunity to experience various accessibility services such as quiet rooms at accommodation facilities, therapy dogs, special food and beverage services, and Café Yanımda, which employs individuals with autism.
A Strong Message from Selahattin Bilgen: “An Accessible Airport for Everyone”
The event was attended by IGA Istanbul Airport CEO Selahattin Bilgen, who emphasized:
“Ensuring that our guests feel safe, understood, and valued throughout their journey is one of our greatest priorities. This event is a tangible demonstration of our commitment to making travel more inclusive and accessible for everyone.”
The New Face of Inclusive Travel
Istanbul Airport aims to create not only a physically accessible space but also an emotionally inclusive environment through its barrier-free transport and service models with backup options. This special event holds great significance not only for individuals with autism but also in terms of creating a more inclusive space for all guests with special needs.
