The national airline of the United Arab Emirates, Etihad Airways, shared its 2024 traffic statistics, marking an extraordinary year of performance.

In December 2024, Etihad Airways served a total of 1.7 million passengers, an increase of over 20% compared to the same period the previous year. The passenger load factor reached 87%, surpassing the 84% recorded in December 2023.
Overall Performance in 2024
Throughout 2024, Etihad Airways transported a total of 18.5 million passengers and achieved an annual load factor of 87%. This represents an 80% growth compared to 2022, highlighting the airline’s rapid expansion trend.
Etihad Airways CEO Antonoaldo Neves commented:
“December traditionally represents the busiest holiday season of the year. With a 22% increase, we carried 1.7 million passengers compared to December 2023. Over the course of 2024, we served more than 18 million guests, achieving a healthy load factor of 87%. This underscores the strong growth and sustainable success we’ve achieved in just two years.”
Expanding Flight Network and New Destinations
In addition to increasing passenger numbers, Etihad Airways also expanded its flight network. In December 2024, the airline resumed flights to Nairobi, Kenya, raising the total number of destinations to 71. Preparations are underway to commence operations to newly announced destinations soon.
