Ercan Airport, the main gateway to the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC), recorded remarkable growth in passenger and aircraft traffic during the first half of 2025 compared to the previous year. According to a statement by T&T Airport Management, passenger numbers increased by 18.73%, while aircraft movements rose by 23.22% compared to the same period in 2024.
Passenger Numbers Reach 2.6 Million
In the first six months of 2024, Ercan Airport served 2,181,947 passengers. This figure rose to 2,590,576 in the same period of 2025. Aircraft traffic also saw a substantial increase: while 14,069 aircraft used the airport between January and June 2024, that number climbed to 17,336 in 2025.
