An Airbus A320-232 passenger aircraft belonging to LATAM Airlines was forced to cancel its flight due to an engine malfunction during departure preparations. On the aircraft with registration PR-MAK, pilots activated safety procedures after flames were observed coming from the left engine.
The incident occurred on Sunday, 18 January, at Florianópolis International Airport (FLN) in Brazil. Flight LA 3819 was scheduled to operate from Florianópolis to Brasília (BSB). Following the technical issue prior to take-off, the aircraft was towed back from the runway and passengers were safely evacuated.
