Engine Explosion on Gol Airlines Flight: 737 MAX Take-off Cancelled

At Miami International Airport in the United States, a Gol Transportes Aéreos Boeing 737-8 MAX aircraft (flight number: G3-7749), preparing to depart for Brasília, the capital of Brazil, aborted take-off due to a technical issue.

Engine Explosion and Flames During Take-off Roll

As the aircraft was accelerating on runway 08R at Miami Airport, the crew heard a loud bang from one of the plane’s LEAP engines at approximately 30 knots – a relatively low speed. Flames were also observed coming from the engine exhaust. Suspecting a possible engine failure, the pilots aborted the take-off immediately and brought the aircraft to a halt on the runway.

Passengers Safely Evacuated

Following the incident, the pilots contacted air traffic control (ATC) and requested to return to the apron. The aircraft taxied safely back, and all passengers were disembarked without injury or panic.

Flight Safety Comes First

The flight was officially cancelled following the event. A technical investigation into the aircraft was launched, and efforts are ongoing to determine the cause of the engine issue. Gol Airlines announced that alternative flight options were provided for the affected passengers.
