Emirates Airline has announced that it will commence flights to seven new destinations using its newly acquired wide-body Airbus A350-900 aircraft. These new routes, which will be introduced gradually between June and September, include Tunis, Amman, Istanbul, Dammam, Ho Chi Minh City, Baghdad, and Oslo.
New Route Start Dates:
- Tunis & Amman: 1st June
- Istanbul & Dammam: 1st July
- Baghdad: Three flights per week from August
- Ho Chi Minh City: Within August
- Oslo: 1st September
Emirates has also announced plans to increase flight frequencies to Bologna in Italy, as well as Bahrain and Kuwait in the Gulf region.
Delivery Delays Affect Schedule
Out of the total 65 Airbus A350-900s ordered by the airline, only three aircraft have been delivered so far. Airbus has fallen behind its delivery schedule due to supply chain issues and delays in the assembly line.
The first A350-900 delivery took place on 3rd January, three months later than originally planned, and was deployed on the Edinburgh route. The most recently delivered aircraft, registered as A6-EXD, joined the fleet on 21st January. Reports indicate that at least six more A350-900 aircraft are nearing completion at Airbus’ Toulouse facility.
Innovative Cabin Experience for Passengers
The A350-900, which has a total capacity of 312 passengers across three classes, offers Emirates passengers a modernised travel experience. The aircraft features:
- A 1-2-1 configured Business Class cabin
- A mini-bar area providing quick refreshments for passengers
- Enhanced Economy and Premium Economy sections
By expanding its A350 fleet, Emirates aims to strengthen its network across Europe, the Middle East, and Asia.
