Emirates Signs Skywise Fleet Performance+ Agreement with Airbus

Dubai-based airline Emirates has signed a new agreement with Airbus to enhance the operational performance of its Airbus A350 and A380 fleets. On February 10, 2025, Emirates announced that it had reached an agreement to implement Airbus’ “Skywise Fleet Performance+ (S.FP+)” software. Described by Airbus as an “advanced predictive maintenance and fleet health monitoring solution,” the software will work in conjunction with the Core X3 analytics platform.

A Data-Driven Approach to Fleet Management

According to Emirates, the S.FP+ software will support data-driven strategic decision-making processes for its commercial Airbus A380 and A350 aircraft, improving dispatch reliability. Through this software, engineering teams will be able to monitor aircraft performance and health data in real-time, detect potential issues in advance, and optimize maintenance activities.

Key features of the Skywise Fleet Performance+ platform include automatic monitoring of pre-flight cabin temperatures and operational conditions, as well as analytics for critical system performance. The system also integrates Aircraft Condition Monitoring System (ACMS) data, providing real-time alerts and solutions.

“Operational Reliability Will Improve Further”

Commenting on the agreement, Emirates’ Senior Vice President of Engineering, Ahmed Safa, stated:
“At Emirates, we continue to leverage pioneering technologies that enhance operational reliability and punctuality, minimize unscheduled disruptions, and help us maintain our fleet to the highest standards. Adopting Skywise Fleet Performance+ is a significant step in supporting our fleet and transforming our maintenance activities into more precise and efficient processes.”

Laurent Negre, Vice President of Customer Services for Airbus Africa and Middle East, added:
“We are proud to strengthen our collaboration with Emirates through Skywise Fleet Performance+ and Core X3 solutions. These innovations will enhance fleet performance while ensuring more efficient operations for passengers.”

Emirates Engineering’s Investment in Advanced Technologies

Emirates Engineering has long integrated digital technologies and aviation analytics into its aircraft maintenance operations. The company is actively working to implement drone-assisted aircraft inspections and is exploring the application of virtual and augmented reality technologies in maintenance tasks.

As the world’s largest operator of the Airbus A380, Emirates currently has 118 A380s in its fleet. The airline has also recently added three of its 65 ordered Airbus A350-900 aircraft to its fleet. To support the maintenance and engineering needs of its 269-aircraft fleet, Emirates operates a 400,000-square-meter facility at Dubai International Airport. Additionally, in 2023, Emirates announced a $950 million investment to construct a new engineering facility at Dubai World Central Airport.
