EGYPTAIR Adds Six More Airbus A350-900 Aircraft to Its Fleet

Egypt’s flag carrier EGYPTAIR has announced a firm order for six additional A350-900 aircraft in response to growing international passenger demand. With this new agreement signed at the 2025 Paris Air Show, the airline’s total A350-900 order now stands at 16.

“Aiming for Sustainable and Comfortable Travel with a Modern Fleet”

EGYPTAIR Chairman and CEO Captain Ahmed Adel commented on the deal, saying:

“We are committed to modernising our fleet to offer our passengers a more comfortable and optimised travel experience. Our ongoing strategic partnership with Airbus continues to grow as part of this vision. The new A350-900s will not only expand our capacity on long-haul routes but also contribute to Egypt’s sustainable aviation goals.”

Airbus: “The A350 is a Cornerstone in EGYPTAIR’s Growth Journey”

In its statement, Airbus emphasised that this marks EGYPTAIR’s second A350 order and said:

“This order is a strong endorsement of the A350’s high value and performance in the market. We believe these aircraft will play a vital role in EGYPTAIR’s growth and decarbonisation efforts.”

A350-900: Setting a New Standard in Long-Haul Travel

The Airbus A350-900 is one of the most advanced and efficient widebody aircraft currently in production. Powered by Rolls-Royce Trent XWB engines, it offers 25% lower fuel consumption and carbon emissions compared to previous-generation models. With a range of up to 18,000 km (9,700 nautical miles), the A350-900 enables non-stop intercontinental travel.

The aircraft also features the spacious Airspace cabin, wider seats, high ceilings, and innovative ambient lighting to maximise passenger comfort.

A Vision for Sustainability

Like all Airbus aircraft, the A350-900 is already capable of operating with up to 50% Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF). Airbus aims to make all its aircraft 100% SAF-compatible by 2030.

As of May 2025, the A350 family has received over 1,390 orders from 60 customers worldwide.
