Turkish Aerospace Industries Inc. (TUSAŞ) has reached a milestone in two major projects set to revolutionise Turkey’s defence industry. TUSAŞ General Manager Mehmet Demiroğlu shared the latest developments in unmanned aerial vehicle technology with the public, announcing that both the ANKA-3 and Super Şimşek projects have now entered the mass production phase.
ANKA-3: Turkey’s Jet-Powered Unmanned Combat Aircraft
Developed by TUSAŞ, the ANKA-3 is distinguished as Turkey’s first jet-powered unmanned combat aircraft. “We are about to start mass production. Our testing continues at pace,” said Demiroğlu, noting that final preparations are underway for the aircraft to enter the production line.
Having completed its maiden flight in 2023, ANKA-3 is still undergoing its flight testing campaign. With its low radar visibility design and flying wing configuration, the platform offers high strategic value, particularly for reconnaissance, electronic warfare, and strike missions.

Mass Production Begins for Super Şimşek
Another significant announcement from Demiroğlu concerned the Super Şimşek. “Mass production of Super Şimşek has begun, and deliveries will start soon,” he stated, emphasising that the project is progressing in line with its planned schedule.
Developed by TUSAŞ, Super Şimşek is positioned as a high-speed target drone. This system will be used primarily for testing air defence systems and training pilots. Capable of reaching supersonic speeds, the platform stands out with its high manoeuvrability and modular payload capacity.
