The Defence Industries Presidency has announced the signing of a significant agreement that will contribute to the development of Turkey’s aviation industry. Under the coordination of the Defence Industries Presidency, Turkish Aerospace Industries (TUSAŞ) and ASPİLSAN Enerji signed a contract titled “Development and Production of Aviation Battery Cells within the Scope of Defence Industries Presidency Industrial Participation and Offset Support.”
According to a statement from the Presidency, the agreement was concluded during the Kayseri Defence Industry Provincial Meeting under the supervision of Defence Industries President Prof. Dr. Haluk Görgün. The agreement aims to develop and produce battery cells critical to the national aviation industry using local and national resources.
The statement emphasised that this collaboration marks a crucial step towards enhancing the independence of the Turkish defence industry, stating, “We wish this significant step towards the growth and independence of our defence industry to be beneficial for our country, and we extend our gratitude to all stakeholders involved.”
