Turkey’s defence and aerospace industry exports reached $2.98 billion in the first five months of 2025, marking a 29% increase compared to the same period last year. The announcement was made by the President of Defence Industries, Prof. Dr. Haluk Görgün, via the social media platform X.
Rising Share of High-Tech Products
In his statement, Görgün emphasised not only the rise in export figures but also the growing diversity and technological sophistication of exported products:
“The number of exporting companies is increasing each day, and our product portfolio is evolving in favour of high-tech solutions.”
Highlighting that the Turkish defence industry is no longer limited to specific regions but is now capable of exporting globally, Görgün credited this success to the Presidency’s continuous international cooperation efforts.
Goal: Sustainable and Widespread Exports
Prof. Dr. Görgün also shared his strategic vision for the coming period:
“We will persist with international initiatives that embrace both our large-scale firms and SMEs, making exports a benchmark of sustainability across the entire sector.”
Defence Industry Outperforms National Export Trends
As of the first five months of 2025, the defence and aerospace industry accounts for more than 3% of Turkey’s total exports. Görgün expressed his gratitude to all contributors, referring to them as the “defence industry family,” for their role in achieving this milestone.
