Croatia is set to add Bayraktar TB2 armed drones (SİHA) produced by Turkey’s Baykar to its inventory. The Croatian government has approved the acquisition through its defence ministry, with AFP reporting that the €84 million agreement includes the procurement of six Bayraktar TB2 drones along with necessary equipment from Baykar.
Under the agreement, Croatia is expected to receive the Bayraktar TB2s in 2026. As part of the preparation process, Croatian military personnel will initially undergo training in Turkey. This training programme will be conducted by Baykar’s expert team to ensure the effective operation of the drones.
Croatian Defence Minister Ivan Anusic emphasised that acquiring the Bayraktar TB2 is an urgent and strategic priority for the country’s defence. He highlighted that the system will significantly enhance Croatia’s defence capabilities and represents a vital step for national security.
Bayraktar TB2 Expands Its Global Reach
With Croatia, a Central European nation, incorporating Bayraktar TB2 into its arsenal, the globally recognised drone continues to extend its operational footprint worldwide.
