On Friday, 21st March, at 11:51, the Boeing 777-300ER took off from Paris Charles de Gaulle (CDG) Airport, bound for Pointe-à-Pitre on an 8-hour 40-minute journey. However, while cruising at 31,000 feet (approximately 9,500 metres) off the French coast, the aircraft deviated from its route and began circling in the air.
Passenger’s Lost Mobile Phone Triggers Mid-Air Crisis
According to an Air France statement, a passenger’s missing mobile phone raised potential security concerns, prompting a precautionary return. The aircraft had 375 passengers on board along with 12 cabin crew members. Following the incident, the plane safely landed back at Paris CDG Airport without issue.
