The Iranian Civil Aviation Organization announced that flights to Syria have been suspended until January 22. The statement emphasized that resuming flights depends on Syria granting entry permission.
“Entry Permits Mandatory for Flights to Syria”
Hussein Purfarzaneh, head of the Iranian Civil Aviation Organization, underlined the importance of destination country permits for international flights. “To fly to a country, entry permission from the destination is required. Currently, flights to Syria will not take place until January 22, following the New Year holidays,” Purfarzaneh stated.
Flights to Lebanon Remain Unaffected
On the other hand, Purfarzaneh clarified that while flights to Syria have been halted, flights to Lebanon continue without restrictions. This situation is expected to have only a limited impact on Iran’s regional flight network.
