Yozgat Airport Nears Completion: Opening Planned for 2026

The Yozgat Airport project, currently under construction in Yozgat, has reached a 90% completion rate. Work continues at full speed, with the airport scheduled to open in 2026. Hasan Kandemir, the Provincial Chairman of the AK Party in Yozgat, emphasised that the airport will serve not only Yozgat but also neighbouring provinces as an important new transportation hub.

A New Era in Regional Transportation

During his visit to the site, Chairman Kandemir noted that the new airport will offer significant convenience, especially for Turkish citizens living abroad. “Our citizens from Yozgat, as well as from Çorum, Kayseri, and Sivas, will be able to choose Yozgat Airport for their travels,” he said.

Infrastructure Completed: Alaca and Fakıbeyli Roads Now Open

The Alaca Road and the connection road to Fakıbeyli Village, which will provide access to the airport, have been completed. This will greatly improve access to the airport from both the city centre and surrounding districts.

Airport to Boost Economy and Tourism

Once completed, Yozgat Airport is expected to create significant employment opportunities in the region. Kandemir stated that the airport will contribute notably to regional tourism and trade, and that Yozgat’s socio-economic structure will be strengthened with the arrival of skilled migrants from outside the province.

Target: Ready for Flights in 2026

The rapidly progressing Yozgat Airport is expected to become operational in 2026. Once flights begin, the region will gain quicker access to both domestic and international destinations—a strategic step for regional development.
