Corendon Airlines, known for its support in the fields of culture, art, and sports, continues its contribution to art and artists by sponsoring the 2nd Turkey Textile Biennale, which will be held between 22 February and 13 April 2025 in the historical and natural locations of Gazipaşa and Alanya. The Textile Biennale will take place at historically and culturally significant sites such as the Selinus and Lamos Ancient Cities, Yalan Dünya Cave, Red Tower, Alanya Shipyard, and Syedra Ancient City.
The Turkey Textile Biennale this year will explore the relationship between the endless waves of the Mediterranean leaving marks on the shores and the order of fabrics created by human labour under the theme “Wave Fabric.” The rhythmic movements of the wave and the memory of the fabric, knitted stitch by stitch, represent the fusion of nature’s cyclical movements and human creative power. The biennale addresses the intertwined history of textile production and nature from an ecological perspective. The historical role of the Mediterranean’s water resources in weaving and silk production will be examined alongside current environmental issues. Water plays a central role in every stage, from dyeing the fabric to processing plant fibres, and the biennale transforms this cycle into an awareness-raising experience.
