Corendon Airlines, one of Europe’s leading holiday carriers, is preparing to celebrate its 20-year success story at ITB Berlin, one of the world’s most significant tourism events. The Turkey-based airline has been operating for two decades, with four branches in Germany, over 20 departure points across the UK, Austria, and Switzerland, as well as strong travel agency and business partnerships.
20 Years of Success Since the First Flight
Corendon Airlines launched its operations on 12 April 2005, with its inaugural flight from Eindhoven Airport to Istanbul Sabiha Gökçen Airport — the first passenger plane to land at the newly opened airport on Istanbul’s Anatolian side. Over 20 years, the airline has grown rapidly, now carrying 10 million passengers annually.
Festive Celebration at ITB Berlin
Corendon Airlines will be present with a stand at ITB Berlin, taking place from 4–6 March 2025. In addition to the anniversary celebrations, the company will showcase its latest innovations and expanding flight network. The airline will also organise a special flight from Antalya to Berlin to ensure strong participation at the event.
“20 Years of Success Is Our Pride”
Corendon Airlines Chairman, Yıldıray Karaer, reflected on the airline’s 20-year journey, stating:
“Starting this journey in 2005 with just two aircraft, becoming one of Europe’s leading holiday carriers today is a great source of pride for us. We extend our heartfelt thanks to our more than 2,000 employees, passengers, and business partners who contributed to this achievement.”
Strong Presence in the German and UK Markets
Corendon Airlines has established a robust presence, particularly in the German, Austrian, and Swiss markets. Since launching Paderborn-Antalya flights in 2006, the airline has completed over 55,000 flights. With base operations at Cologne Bonn, Nuremberg, Hanover, and Düsseldorf airports, Corendon holds a key position in Germany.
In the UK market, Corendon Airlines has become a favourite among British holidaymakers, offering direct flights from London, Manchester, Birmingham, and Glasgow to Antalya and Heraklion.
Strong Sporting Partnerships
Corendon Airlines also stands out with its strong ties to the sports world, contributing to sports tourism through investments like Corendon Tennis Club and Corendon Football Centre. The airline partners with clubs such as Anadolu Efes Sports Club, Corendon Alanyaspor, Hull City, and Muratpaşa Belediyespor.
Innovative Steps Towards the Future
With its extensive fleet and customer-centric approach, Corendon Airlines continues to fly to top Mediterranean holiday destinations. Operating a fleet of 31 aircraft and serving over 50 airports worldwide, the airline remains at the forefront of tourism innovation, taking bold steps towards the future.
