Following the ceasefire established after heightened tensions between Iran and Israel, restrictions on flights in Iranian airspace have begun to ease. The airspace is now partially reopened to civil aviation for international flights departing from and arriving in Tehran, the capital of Iran.
The globally recognised flight tracking platform FlightRadar24 announced that Iranian airspace has been partially reopened to civil flights after 12 days of conflict. In a statement shared on its X account (formerly Twitter), the platform reported that international flights to and from Tehran are now allowed to use Iranian airspace, provided prior permission is obtained.
The statement also highlighted another key development indicating a return to normalcy in regional air traffic: Iraqi airspace has also been reopened to civil flights.
Experts note that the reopening of airspace in the region is a significant development, both for regional aviation operations and for the route planning of global airlines.
