Eastern Airlines Technic (EASTEC), a subsidiary of China Eastern Airlines, has signed a 12-year exclusive maintenance service agreement with Lufthansa Technik, one of the global leaders in aviation maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO). This agreement covers technical support for the auxiliary power units (APUs) of the entire Airbus A350 fleet.
Lufthansa Technik Takes Responsibility for A350 APU Maintenance
At its specialised APU maintenance facility in Hamburg, Germany, Lufthansa Technik will provide comprehensive MRO services for the Honeywell HGT1700 APUs used in Airbus A350 aircraft. The company, as Honeywell’s officially licensed repair partner for the HGT1700 APUs exclusively used in the Airbus A350, is authorised to provide all maintenance services. With its advanced component repair centre and global supply network, Lufthansa Technik guarantees top-tier service quality.

Fang Zhaoya, President of Eastern Airlines Technic, stated that the collaboration would continue to enhance the reliability and efficiency of the A350 fleet’s operations. “By partnering with a global MRO leader like Lufthansa Technik, we can offer our valued customers the highest standards of service and safety,” Fang said. Dennis Kohr, Senior Vice President of Corporate Sales for Asia Pacific at Lufthansa Technik, expressed honour in providing core maintenance services to Eastern Airlines Technic. “The signing of this exclusive long-term agreement is another significant milestone in our close relationship with Eastern Airlines Technic and will further strengthen our position in the Chinese market,” Kohr said.
