A China Eastern Airlines Airbus A330-300 aircraft, operating flight MU703 from Shanghai, China to Istanbul, made an emergency landing at Samsun Çarşamba Airport due to a technical malfunction encountered over the Black Sea region. Passengers on board were safely evacuated, and the remainder of the journey continued by road.
The flight crew of the aircraft, registered B-1073, decided to divert to the nearest suitable airport — Samsun Çarşamba — after detecting a technical issue during cruise. The plane landed safely without incident. Passengers were met by ground teams at the airport and transported to Istanbul by bus.
A detailed technical inspection and maintenance work on the aircraft was initiated by expert teams. Efforts are ongoing to restore the aircraft to airworthy condition.
