Sudden Pressure Change Affects Passengers
As the plane ascended, an unexpected problem with cabin pressure emerged. Many passengers reported dizziness, ear pain, and nosebleeds. One passenger described the chaotic moment, saying, “I saw my husband holding his ears and leaning forward. The person behind me had a nosebleed, and people were trying to help him.”
Another passenger shared their frightening experience: “I felt a stabbing pain in my ear, and when I touched it, I saw blood.”
10 Passengers Treated
After the plane made an emergency return to Utah, 10 passengers received medical attention for minor injuries. While there were no severe injuries, emergency teams treated the affected passengers upon landing. Delta Airlines confirmed that all passengers disembarked safely and additional support was provided.
Apology from Delta
Delta Airlines issued an apology following the incident, stating, “We apologize to our customers for the pressurization issue experienced on Flight 1203 on September 15. The flight crew followed procedures to return to Utah, and our ground teams provided necessary assistance to our customers.”
The U.S. Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has launched an investigation into the incident.
