Turkey-based global ground handling provider Çelebi Aviation has issued a public statement in response to claims that its operations in India have been suspended. The company stated that it continues to provide services in all the countries where it operates, including India.
In the statement issued by Çelebi Aviation, the company said:
“With over 65 years of experience, we successfully maintain ground handling and cargo warehouse operations at 70 airports in six countries across three continents—Germany, Indonesia, India, Hungary, Tanzania, and Turkey—with approximately 16,000 employees.”
“We Are in Full Compliance with the Law”
The company confirmed that it had received a notification from India’s Bureau of Civil Aviation Security (BCAS) regarding the operating licenses of some of its subsidiaries. The statement read:
“The process regarding our operations at certain airports in India is currently being assessed within the scope of national security concerns. Accordingly, there have been temporary suspensions of certain services. However, we are closely following the process in close cooperation with the Ministry of Civil Aviation (MoCA) and BCAS. All our operations are conducted in full compliance with local regulations and international standards.”

Çelebi Aviation emphasised that the most sensitive aspect of the process is the rights and safety of its employees, stating:
“Our top priority is to protect the rights of our employees and ensure the sustainability of their working conditions. Every step we take is in line with our corporate values.”

“65% of our shares are held by institutional investors from Canada, the USA, the United Kingdom, Singapore, the United Arab Emirates, and Western Europe. With our expertise in ground handling and cargo operations, we continue to provide efficient, sustainable, and reliable solutions in all markets where we operate.”
