Emergency Following Bird Strike
Flight KW-816, which had taken off from Karachi’s Runway 07R, experienced a bird strike on one of its engines (a CF6 engine) shortly after departure. Following the incident, the crew decided to stop the climb at an altitude of 3,000 feet.
Safe Landing and Waiting Process
Approximately 45 minutes after takeoff, the aircraft safely landed back on the same runway in Karachi. This emergency landing, conducted in accordance with aviation safety standards, was completed without any incidents, thanks to the crew’s prompt and effective response.
Aircraft Remains Grounded in Karachi
Reports indicate that six hours after landing, the aircraft was still grounded in Karachi. Technical teams are currently working on assessing the damage caused by the bird strike and carrying out the necessary repairs.
