CANiK Hits the Mark in Exports and Sets Its Sights Even Higher

Samsun Homeland Defense (SYS) Group, which includes CANiK, increased its domestic sales revenue by 25% and export revenue by 28% in 2024, both in dollar terms. The group aims to achieve even greater goals in 2025, continuing its ascent in the sector.

SYS Group, one of the leading representatives of the Turkish defense industry, demonstrated impressive growth throughout 2024 under the leadership of CANiK.

SYS Group companies, which provide high-value-added products to serve as reliable partners for security forces at home and abroad, reflected this success in their economic indicators.

Intensive efforts were undertaken for the delivery of weapons, weapon accessories, anti-aircraft guns, medium-caliber cannons, and remote-controlled weapon systems designed, developed, and manufactured by CANiK, AEI Systems, and UNIROBOTICS. This ensured on-time and seamless deliveries during a period of increased global demand for defense industry products, positioning the group as a trustworthy supplier.

As a result, SYS Group’s domestic production sales revenue in Turkey increased by 25% in 2024, rising from $147.7 million to $185 million. Export revenue also grew by 28%, climbing from $137 million to $175 million.

Achieving notable success both in the domestic market and on the international stage, the group aims to expand its targets further in 2025, continuing its climb within the sector.

In 2025, the group will shift to consolidated revenue accounting, including its operations in the United States and the United Kingdom. Consolidated revenue is expected to exceed $250 million, with $190 million of this figure projected to come from sales in Turkey.

SYS Group had a busy year in terms of sales, promotion, and marketing activities and plans to maintain this momentum in 2025. The group will participate in 15 international defense fairs on five continents to introduce its brands and products to wider markets.

Cahit Utku Aral, General Manager of SYS Group – CANiK, stated that they are striving to develop high-value-added products to bring new technologies to the security forces of Turkey and allied nations while contributing to the export goals of the Turkish defense industry.

Aral emphasized that the CANiK brand and its affiliated group companies have strengthened their position in international markets thanks to infrastructure investments planned in 2022 and completed in 2024. He continued:

“With the growth figures we achieved, we have successfully represented the Turkish defense industry in international markets and added strength to Turkey’s power. In 2025, we will continue to grow through robust investments and strategic steps. By further increasing our export targets, we aim to enhance the global impact of the Turkish defense industry. As SYS Group, we aim to maintain our leadership in the sector with the success we have achieved in exports. But we will not stop there. 2025 will be an exciting year when our recent investments and products contribute significantly to our sales. This will further strengthen our position in global markets and elevate our presence in the sectors we operate.”
