CANiK and Group Companies Secure New Export Deals at IDEX 2025

Samsun Yurt Savunma (SYS) Group companies have signed strategic agreements at IDEX 2025, one of the world’s most prestigious defence industry exhibitions, to enhance the region’s defence capabilities.

As a global player in the Turkish defence industry, SYS Group companies participated strongly in IDEX 2025, held in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), which is regarded as one of the world’s two largest exhibitions.

Attending the event in Abu Dhabi with a diverse product range and a strong team, the Group companies engaged in productive discussions over the five-day exhibition with numerous companies, industry representatives, and military officials from various regions.

As a result of these discussions, SYS Group companies introduced their high-tech products and systems to security forces and defence industry stakeholders from around the world, securing critical partnerships that will shape regional security and defence capabilities. Returning from the exhibition with new export agreements that will play a significant role in achieving their consolidated revenue targets for 2025, one of the most notable deals was a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed between UNIROBOTICS, a subsidiary of SYS Group, and RESOURCE INDUSTRIES, a leading UAE-based platform manufacturer and integrator. The agreement covers the integration of remote-controlled fire control systems into UAE-based platforms.

The agreement was signed on behalf of SYS Group by SYS Group General Manager Cahit Utku Aral and on behalf of RESOURCE INDUSTRIES by CEO Abdullah Al Kibani.

The defence industry solutions presented by CANiK and its Group companies, developed in line with current needs and the latest technologies, attracted significant interest throughout the exhibition. Visitors who examined the products displayed at the Group companies’ stand had their questions answered by the most authoritative representatives.

Furthermore, the Group’s weapons and remote-controlled weapon systems were showcased at numerous stands, particularly those of vehicle manufacturers in the UAE.

This development also served as global recognition of CANiK’s success in the 30x113mm medium-calibre cannon concept. Various vehicle manufacturers chose to feature SYS Group’s AEI SYSTEMS-produced VENOM LR cannon, which stands out with its low recoil and adjustable high rate of fire, as well as UNIROBOTICS’ TRAKON 30 Remote-Controlled Weapon System (RCWS).

UNIROBOTICS became the company with the most weapon stations at the exhibition, displaying 15 RCWS units not only at its own stand but also across multiple locations.

Additionally, another prominent CANiK product, the CANiK M2 QCB Heavy Machine Gun, which is already contributing to the security needs of numerous users, was presented as a priority choice by vehicle manufacturers to visitors.

SYS Group – CANiK General Manager Cahit Utku Aral emphasised that the UAE is considered a key target market due to its high ranking in global defence spending and the presence of vehicle manufacturers whose products are distributed worldwide.

Highlighting that they view IDEX 2025 as an opportunity to expand their activities in the UAE and reach users from around the world, Aral stated that the interest received and the newly established collaborations justified their strategic approach.

Looking ahead, Aral pointed out that SYS Group’s visibility will continue to grow in the UAE, the Middle East, the Gulf region, and beyond, particularly in regions where these countries are influential. He added:

“This exhibition has proven that SYS Group is truly a global solution partner. Global companies operating in allied nations worldwide see us as a trusted provider of weapon and weapon system solutions. What sets us apart from our competitors is our ability to approach all companies impartially, thoroughly understand their needs, foresee and design products that provide swift solutions to their challenges, and certify these products accordingly. At IDEX 2025, we distinguished ourselves with this strategy.

In the near future, we will see CANiK, UNIROBOTICS, and AEI Systems products increasingly adopted by new users in new countries. We have laid the groundwork for this at IDEX 2025. The Gulf region holds special significance in our export and growth objectives, and we will bring long-term projects to life with the platform manufacturers who have placed their trust in us at this exhibition.”
