A 24-year-old Turkish citizen with an outstanding arrest warrant was detained by federal police at Germany’s Bremen Airport while attempting to board a flight to Istanbul.
Failed Escape Attempt
The suspect was wanted by the Bremen Regional Court on charges of aggravated bodily harm, with an arrest warrant issued due to the risk of flight and obstruction of justice. Federal police stated that the suspect’s attempt to leave the country validated the court’s concerns.
Court officials commented, “The plan to flee to Turkey failed — the suspect found himself handcuffed before a judge in Bremen.”
Allegedly Committed Four Crimes in One Day
A Federal Police spokesperson reported that the suspect allegedly committed four separate crimes in a single day in December and was armed at the time. However, no further details were disclosed due to the confidentiality of the ongoing investigation.
