Bomb Scare on Ryanair Flight: Belgian Airport Brought to a Standstill

Brussels South Charleroi Airport, Belgium’s second busiest airport, was placed on high alert this afternoon following a bomb threat. Due to the security risk, all flights at the airport were temporarily suspended.

Ryanair Plane Moved Away from Terminal as a Precaution

At around 11:00am, a Ryanair passenger plane approaching the airport was directed to a remote area away from the terminal following the bomb threat. Airport security forces established a wide safety perimeter around the aircraft and launched a thorough search operation.

No Evacuation of the Terminal

A spokesperson for Charleroi Airport stated that the location of the bomb threat was approximately 500 metres from the terminal building. As a result, there was no need to evacuate the passenger terminal. However, in order to ensure passenger safety, all inbound and outbound flights were temporarily halted.

Security Screening Underway, Flights on Hold

While police and bomb disposal teams continue their coordinated investigation, airport authorities were unable to confirm when normal flight operations would resume. Passengers have been advised to monitor developments and check with their airlines for updates on flight statuses.
