Baykar, the developer of Turkey’s national and indigenous UAVs, has achieved a significant milestone in exports. Leading the defense and aerospace sector in exports for the past three years, Baykar entered the top 10 companies with the highest exports across all sectors in 2023. This marks the first time in Turkey’s export history that a defense and aerospace company has been among the top 10 exporters.
Award from President Erdoğan
At the “Champions of Export Awards Ceremony” organized by the Turkish Exporters Assembly (TİM) at the Haliç Congress Center in Istanbul, Baykar was announced as one of the top 10 companies with the highest product exports in Turkey. The award was presented by President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan to Baykar General Manager Haluk Bayraktar.

All Projects Funded with Own Resources
Since its inception, Baykar has funded all its projects with its own resources. From the start of its UAV R&D process in 2003, Baykar has generated 83% of its revenues from exports. According to TİM data, Baykar was the export leader in the defense and aerospace sector in both 2021 and 2022, with exports of $664 million in 2021 and $1.2 billion in 2022.

Export Leader
Baykar was again declared the export champion of the sector in 2023 by the Presidency of Defense Industries and TİM, achieving $1.8 billion in exports last year. In recent years, Baykar has earned over 90% of its revenues from exports, and in 2023, it accounted for one-third of the defense and aerospace sector’s exports.
World’s Largest UAV Exporter
Baykar is the world’s largest UAV exporter and was ranked 76th on the Stockholm International Peace Research Institute (SIPRI) list of the world’s top 100 defense companies. Among the 100 companies listed, Baykar had the highest revenue growth rate at 94%. Of Baykar’s current contracts, 97.5% are export-related. Baykar has signed export agreements with 33 countries for the Bayraktar TB2 UAV and with 9 countries for the Bayraktar AKINCI UAV, totaling 34 countries.
