AZAL Crash: Why Were Cockpit Conversations Omitted from the Report?

The transcripts of pilots’ conversations from the Azerbaijan Airlines (AZAL) passenger aircraft that crashed near Aktau are available to all parties involved in the investigation, Kazakhstan’s Vice Minister of Transport Talgat Lastayev said, according to Report.

“There can be no bias there. These are specialists from Brazil, where the decoding was done, our specialists, specialists from Azerbaijan, from Russia, from ICAO (International Civil Aviation Organization). All parties have these transcripts,” said Lastayev at a briefing, responding to a question about why the preliminary accident investigation report did not include the cockpit conversations between pilots.
