In a tragic accident at Muğla Training and Research Hospital, an Airbus Helicopter H135 ambulance helicopter belonging to the Ministry of Health crashed into the hospital building due to heavy fog. The crash claimed the lives of four individuals, including two pilots, one doctor, and one crew member.

Statement from Governor İdris Akbıyık
Muğla Governor İdris Akbıyık commented on the accident, saying, “During takeoff, it collided with the 4th floor of our hospital. Two pilots, one doctor, and one crew member passed away. There was heavy fog; the cause is under investigation.”

How the Accident Happened
The ambulance helicopter took off in the morning to head to Antalya but lost control in dense fog and struck the 4th floor of the hospital building. After the impact, the helicopter broke apart and crashed into the hospital yard.
Emergency teams, including firefighters, medical personnel, police, and disaster response units (AFAD), were dispatched to the scene following reports of the incident. The cause of the crash is currently under investigation.

About the H135 Helicopter
The helicopter involved in the accident is an Airbus Helicopters H135 (formerly known as EC135), a twin-engine model. These helicopters can reach a maximum speed of 258 kilometers per hour and have a range of 635 kilometers. They are commonly used for ambulance services and passenger transport.
The H135 can be operated by a single pilot and has a seating capacity of seven passengers. In the Ministry of Health’s flight operations, two pilots and two medical personnel are typically on duty.

Victims of the Crash
Efforts at the scene confirmed that two pilots, one doctor, and one crew member aboard the helicopter tragically lost their lives in the accident.
