AMAC Aerospace’s $100 Million Investment in Bodrum

Swiss-based AMAC Aerospace, one of the world’s leading aircraft maintenance and repair companies, continues its investments in Turkey without pause. The company is set to build a new aircraft maintenance hangar at Milas-Bodrum Airport, investing $100 million. Scheduled to become operational in 2026, the facility is expected to mark a significant milestone in Turkey’s aviation sector.

New Hangar to Support Global Goals

Previously establishing hangars in Istanbul and Bodrum, AMAC Aerospace is now constructing its third facility on a 32,000-square-metre site at Milas-Bodrum Airport. The new hangar will accommodate up to three wide-body aircraft and will be flexibly designed to support narrow-body aircraft as well. This investment aims to position Turkey as a key aircraft maintenance and repair hub in the region, supporting AMAC Aerospace’s global expansion strategy.

Over 300 New Jobs to be Created

The company currently employs around 1,500 staff across its eight facilities worldwide, with 180 employees in Turkey. The opening of the new hangar is expected to create more than 300 new jobs in Turkey.

AMAC Aerospace Group Chairman and CEO, Kadri Muhiddin, highlights Turkey’s strategic geographical location, stating: “Turkey sits at the crossroads of Europe and the Middle East, at the heart of commercial airline routes. This location not only presents significant opportunities for AMAC Aerospace’s growth targets but also contributes to our aim of establishing Turkey as a regional aircraft maintenance hub.”

Target to Triple Investment

To date, AMAC Aerospace has invested a total of $50 million in Turkey. With this new hangar, the company aims to triple its investment, seeking to enhance its market leadership in areas such as aircraft maintenance, repair, and VIP aircraft completion.

Turkey Set to Lead in Passenger and Aircraft Maintenance Services

The new hangar’s opening will contribute significantly to positioning Turkey as a prominent maintenance and repair centre in the regional aviation industry. Expected to serve numerous international airlines in the future from Bodrum, this facility is anticipated to enhance Turkey’s competitiveness in the aviation sector.
