AJet, a subsidiary of Turkish Airlines, is launching direct flights from Ankara to Baghdad, the capital of Iraq, as part of its international growth strategy. Tickets for the Ankara–Baghdad flights, which will begin on 3 November 2025, are on sale starting from 79 USD.

Three Flights a Week from Ankara to Baghdad

AJet, which has set international expansion as a strategic goal, is adding Baghdad to the list of capitals it operates flights to from Ankara.

On the new route launching on 3 November 2025, flights will operate from Ankara on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, and from Baghdad on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays.

Baghdad, one of the most important centres in the Middle East, will become AJet’s second departure point from Türkiye after Istanbul. With this new route, AJet’s international network based in Ankara will expand significantly.

Ahmet Bolat: “We Continue to Connect the World to Our Capital”

Chairman of Turkish Airlines and AJet, Ahmet Bolat, announced the launch of Ankara–Baghdad flights on his social media account, saying:

“We are launching direct flights to Baghdad, the ancient capital of Iraq with which we share historical and cultural ties, starting from 3 November. I hope this new route will strengthen relations between our two countries and bring prosperity.”

Highlighting AJet’s vision for international growth, Bolat stated that they aim to make Ankara an important hub within the international flight network:

“We are taking new steps towards our goal of connecting Ankara with 34 different cities around the world.

Following the recently launched Ankara–Tbilisi route, we will further enhance our capital’s global visibility with flights to Madrid, Barcelona, and Erbil.

We will continue to build air bridges that will carry Ankara to the world in many fields — from tourism to the economy, from culture to art.”
