China’s civil aviation sector showcased an impressive performance in 2024, capturing attention on the global aviation stage with its growth momentum. The 18% rise in passenger numbers signals an accelerating post-pandemic recovery and increased activity across a broad spectrum, from domestic tourism to international flights. Particularly noteworthy is the completion of all flights without a single accident, highlighting China’s achievement of international standards in aviation safety.

The expected record passenger numbers during the 2025 Spring Festival travel season will test the sector’s capacity management and infrastructure development.
